Another series in this genre, equally good, is House of Cards (pros & cons compared to Designated Survivor).
Homeland is still the best series in a related genre, but it's not available for viewing anywhere anymore.
The Recruit is also pretty good.

Yes, I have watched House of Cards, and also Homeland. House of Cards was very good, until Kevin Spacey became a convicted sex predator, and they canned the series.
