Huawei's high end phones costs more than $850 when Chinese smartphones are suppose to be low costs with high specs. You might as well get a iPhone 6 or Samsung Galaxy S6 edge or S7 that fetches high resale / trade in value. How many shops in sg are willing to take in Mate 8 and pays the same?
See for yourselves how "popular" Chinese smartphones are at some of these retail shops. You'll be lucky if some beng is willing to take in your phone.

Samsung rolled out Android Marshmallow software updates about two months ago but some users of the company’s most-priced devices are yet to receive this update.
The company has been accused of its messy system of rolling out software updates months after they show up on the Google-owned devices. However, it seems things will take time before they are really put up to pace, especially when compared to some other top smartphone manufacturers in the Android niche.
Samsung Galaxy Marshmallow updates started showing up somewhere in February, with last year’s releases being the first devices on the list to receive the update. Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users with international variants should already have updated their devices. However, some carrier-based models are yet to receive this Marshmallow update, something that is down to these carriers.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Marshmallow software update
Samsung Galaxy Note 5 already received the Android Marshmallow update in its home country. However, there are reports that the company is working on a revised version of the software that will take care of the issues resulting from the initial update. This new update is reportedly rolling out in India and some parts of the Middle East.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android Marshmallow
U.S. users of the slightly older Samsung Galaxy Note 4 can download the Marshmallow update on their devices. Sprint is working on pushing the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to the Note 4; however, it may take a while before it shows up.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Marshmallow update underway in the U.S., update coming to Galaxy S5 soon
Following its official release by Samsung in February, it is only until a few weeks ago that users of Samsung Galaxy S6 in the United States started receiving this update. AT&T and Verizon users are reportedly receiving the update; an update that those on T-Mobile and Sprint have already received on their devices.
Android M comes with some security updates, new features as well as lots of improvements.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Android Marshmallow
On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S5 Marshmallow update is expected to start “very soon” on T-Mobile given that the OS is currently in the testing stage. This is something that surfaced about two weeks ago, but the update is yet to start rolling out on this 2014 flagship. Still, other carriers have not confirmed when the Galaxy S5 will be receiving the Marshmallow software update. For those using the unlocked variants, you can check out for the update via the phone’s ‘About’ settings.
The latest models of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are scheduled for security updates and bug fixes as from later this week, but this has only been confirmed for Canadian users of Telus network.
Huawei Ascend P7 costs around $660. Very expensive for a phone with moderate specs. No shops in sg will take it. Even if u can find a Beng shop that will, expect lowballers.
