Tenzin Nyima, 53, was killed and another commando critically wounded in the blast near the shores of the Pangong Tso lake in the western Himalayas, three Indian government officials and two members of his family told Reuters.

Nyima was part of the Special Frontier Force (SFF), his family and three Indian government officials said.

The force recruits mostly from Tibetan refugees, hundreds of thousands of whom have made India their home since the Dalai Lama fled Tibet following a failed uprising in 1959. Some are Indian citizens.

Indian Troops Took Control Of Hunan Coast And The Nearby Reqin Mountain Pass

Indian forces have captured Reqin. It has not been under Indian control since India lost 1962 war. It is a very bold step. And a very important one.

Establishment 22 or the Special Frontier Force (SSF) which is made up entirely of Tibetans, has captured Reqin and are controlling the heights of Pangong Tso Lake. This is an audacious move, as neither of these areas have been under Indian control since we lost the 1962 war.

The Chinese have two camps in Spanggur. A 3 km ridgeline on the hill alongside Reqin which the Chinese say we occupy leads straight to a position that dominates Spanggur. Map location of Reqin and pics of Chinese positions in Spanggur here. This would place us 4km inside.

Reqin, One of the areas identified by the Chinese as being under Indian Army control is a valley. By dominating the feature along its side and traversing the ridge, Indian Army soldiers could dominate the Chinese posts in Spanggur. We would be nearly 4 kms inside.

Amid Tensions, Russia Is Deploying Thousands Of Soldiers Near China Border

Russian President Vladimir Putin has begun efforts to increase his homeland’s military presence in the Far East along the border with China, amid growing foreign threats.

Amid an impasse over disengagement with China at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, India has warned China that its soldiers will open fire in self-defence if the People's Liberation Army (PLA) troops come to India's positions at LAC, government sources said on Friday.

On the backdrop of the India-China LAC dispute, India has tried to reason with China on the disengagement along the LAC to ease the standoff but China has taken an adamant stand, according to government sources said on September 24.

After the Galwan Valley incident, the tactics of China is to come forward in huge numbers near the patrolling points of India. So to abstain this, India has sent a clear message to China that now we have changed the rule of engagement and now if Chinese soldiers come close to "our positions in huge numbers we will fire".

Since the Galwan Valley incident, it has become clear that there is no question of believing China's words of peace and their deeds on the ground has to match the words.

On September 25, sources had said that India has conveyed during the talks with People's Liberation Army (PLA) in Maldo, on the Chinese side of the LAC in eastern Ladakh, that disengagement should take place from A to Z area.

During the talks with China, India has conveyed that the withdrawal should take place from Daspang plain to southern area of Pangong Tso and it should not be selective.

However, China is not ready to accept that PLA first transgressed into the LAC and has asked the Indian Army to withdraw first from southern Pangong Tso.
