It is the policies of the pap that caused Singaporean's division, so the best man to unite Singapore is TJS.

maybe georgie wants to set up a new political party....i m sure if he does, lots of support

If GY joins an opposition party or sets up his own party, he will DEFINITELY become leader of the opposition after the next GE. Many scholars, business people and professionals will flock to join him, thus setting up an "alternative elite". If he plays his cards right, he could become Singapore's Anwar Ibrahim and deny the PAP 2/3 majority by forming an alliance with WP.

It is not even too far fetched to say that some PAP MPs will defect to GY's party. And if he can get Lau Goh to become a mentor or spiritual adviser, he confirm will win alot of votes.

However, how "reform" minded is he really? How do we know that he is a reformist? How do we know that he opposes LHL? Even if he does, would he be prepared to publicly go against them, when others in the past (like Dhanabalan) have just chosen to quietly resign due to their disagreements and exit the political arena?

[In times of crisis, when Singaporeans are divided, the President's role can be critical. We need a President with a clear mind and a ''heart'' which beats as one with ours/QUOTE]

Tan Jee Say and George Yeo know each other since their university days when both were in the UK on government scholarships.

TJS has said before, he has worked in the civil service before, he knows people in the establishment, so all this talk about him unable to work with the government is wrong. He has worked on both sides of the political divide.

Tan Jee Say on George Yeo:

'Singapore Democratic Party's Tan Jee Say, who knew Minister Yeo from their university days when both men were in the UK on a government scholarship, told Yahoo! Singapore, "He's been quite innovative and different in his approach. He is a breath of fresh air in politics. It's sad to see him go."

'He described the Minister as being a "gentleman" and "personable".

'"He is definitely a great asset in foreign service but to make him an ambassador will just be under utilising his talents, he could in fact play a much bigger role. But its up to the leaders to decide," said Tan.'

As the song goes, "Anyone Who Had a Heart, Would take me in his arms and love me, too"

Maybe Georgy should wear pink.

Joyful Heart Man scores brave win

Joyful Heart Man showed plenty of fighting spirit to edge past Iro Otoko by a short head in the $55,000 Open Benchmark 61 race over 1900m on Polytrack on Friday.

After being trapped four wide coming off the backstraight, the son of Hawkeye, who was at his fourth Kranji start, drew on level terms with Iro Otoko at the 300m before staging a ding-dong battle that only saw Joyful Heart Man gain a slender advantage on the line.

Third some distance back was The Kathumpa who finished just under three lengths behind the duelling pair. The winning time was 1min 59.26secs.

Joyful Heart Man (outside) gives jockey Soo Khoon Beng a double as he edges
past Iro Otoko (Barend Vorster).

The win was quite a training feat by local handler Tan Hor Khoon considering Joyful Heart Man ($44) was facing a steep rise in distance, having last raced over 1100m when he ran ninth to Caiyaya, but Tan knew all along what his charge had under the bonnet.

“When he first trialled, I thought he was a speedy sort and I first tried him over short sprints,” said Tan.

“I soon realised he needed more distance and stepped him up to 1600m. Being by Hawkeye, I knew he would be better over more ground.

“He however had a small shadow on his off-side foreleg and had to be operated on. Nothing too serious but he had to be spelled for a while.

“He’s been coming along nicely. At his last barrier trial, Joao (Moreira) rode him and jumped off saying we should fit him with blinkers instead of pacifiers.

“Thanks to Joao for the tip. We asked him to ride the horse tonight but he pulled the wrong rein and went for The Kathumpa instead.

“KB gave the horse a very good ride. Too bad for Joao.”

Soo proved the beneficiary of the leading Brazilian hoop’s good counsel, incidentally booting home a double, having earlier scored aboard Hard Stuff for trainer Alvin Tan.

Joyful Heart Man cost NZ$27,500 as a two-year-old and is raced by the Soon & Lim Stable.
