Let's say you are very old and dying. The hospital will try to discharge you when you show the smallest sign of improvement, so that you can die peacefully in the comfort of your home.
DNS instructions given only by families, caregiver or patient when he/she was in a clear mind.Discharge? More like encourage you to go to a hospice or label you as a 'do not resuscitate' patient.
These days, they really intentionally discharge people to die at home when there's slightest sign of improvement, even without telling you that there's no hope.
