Four auxiliary policemen suspected of abusing their powers have been detained after a video went viral allegedly showing them roughly interrogating a young man and woman they believed had been having sex, mainland media reports.
One of the policemen from the city of Zaozhuang, in Shandong province filmed the two-minute incident on his phone and posted it on his WeChat social media account, showing one of them holding a baton to a woman’s head and another holding a man by the throat for about two seconds, the news portal ThePaper.cn reported on Wednesday.

The video clip shows the auxiliary policemen asking them, “Have you done it?” and “You say you didn’t [have sex] even when you have taken your pants off?”.
After the video went viral, the four auxiliary policemen were detained on December 18, and their senior officers were punished, the report said, without giving further details.
The woman filmed in the video told ThePaper.cn that she and the man were only classmates and had not been having sex before they were stopped and interrogated.
