PEASANTPOR — Former Labour Party (WP) chief Angry Teochew Low Ah Khiang will not be standing for the General Erection (GE) on 10 July.
Fellow Aljunied GRC Peasants' Representative Chen Ah Mao and Hougang SMC Peasants' Representative Png Ah Huat will also be avoiding Erection 2020.
In a virtual press conference in which new candidates were unveiled, Labour's secretary-general Pritam Singh also revealed that its peasants Gerald Giam and Leon Perera will stand in Aljunied GRC, and Dennis Tan will contest in Hougang SMC after playing second fiddle to one deadwood Chen.
On the three members who will not be standing, Pritam said that the decision was made “quite some time ago” after Low, Chen and Png had a fall out and had to step down after the current term.
However, Pritam stressed that the decision was akin to placate trouble maker Chen's faction who fought with Teochew Low instead of balking PAP imperialistic policies.
“No choice, Chen rather fight with our own people than check on PAP. So Teochew Low decided to retreat and use this chance as renewal of Labour Party MPs (Peasants' Representative). Peasants don't want to give Leon, Dennis and GIam a chance. They can't play second fiddle forever. We will not be able to retain younger peasants to serve as dissenters and not be Peasants' Representative.,” said Pritam. The absence of new blood will set the party back in its growth as the only acceptable opposition in Peasantpore, he added.
“Teochew Low shared with me that Labour Party is the last hope for peasants to check on Imperialistic PAP. He was sad that Wuhan Plague came at the wrong time to hand PAP a big victory. Giam, Leon and Dennis will be wiped out and disheartened if he don't give them more exposure. We are staring at defeat so no choice, he rather bow out and give the new birds a fighting chance to carry on the fucking fight,” Pritam said.
“PAP will win 78% of the Erection votes, we may barely retain Hougang and Aljunied unless PAP really cock up again.”
“Heng $wee $wee give peasants up to 900 peanuts to spend on the economy, old peasants now all happy happy, shopping centers are packed, but PAP will get the chicken back after giving the egg,” he said.
Teochew Low was also in the news recently when he had a fall on 30 April and was admitted to the intensive care unit of Khoo Teck Puat Hospital with a head injury. He saw this as divine warning that PAP will score a big fucking win and it is better to give the seats to Giam, Leon and Dennis to carry on the fight.
The longest-serving opposition Peasants' Representative in Peasantpore won rebellious seditious Hougang SMC in GE2006 against the incumbent Party Against Peasants (PAP) Eric Low Siak Meng.
He is best known for leading the Labour team to a historic victory in Aljunied over the PAP in GE2011 - the first time that an opposition party had won a GRC. The team retained the GRC in GE2015 after suffering a big thrashing in other fronts e.g. East Coast.
