Say what you like about Des Desmond - he is at least smart enough to realise that he'd better get people and kakis who are used to agreeing with him on everything he says. If he hires someone via really due process through his HR department, he might lose his job even before his next Hawaii holiday.

and for yes men - there must be no lack of them in all the ministries, GLCs, RC, PA etc. I have worked with some of them before. They are so eager to run you with down with the number of years they have in these organisations just to prove their worthiness. for their lack of creativity, some were forced to leave after having shown what they were not capable of.
