A 32-year-old woman is currently being investigated for taking part in a public assembly without a permit, police in Singapore said in a statement on Tuesday (29 Nov).
According to the police, the Singaporean woman allegedly staged a protest outside the Embassy of China on Monday, which "pertained to issues in China".
The police said she was directed to stop her protest, and she complied.

"The Police would like to remind the public that organising or participating in a public assembly without a Police permit in Singapore constitutes an offence under the Public Order Act," the statement said.
Yahoo understands the woman is Kelly Ong, team owner and Chief Strategy Officer of Swedish esports organisation Alliance, who tweets under the handle @kellymilkies.
Ong had earlier posted on Twitter that she was "alone outside" the Chinese embassy along Singapore's Tanglin Road.
She also posted photos of signs, one which read, "Release innocent arrested people. Only scientific isolation. Stop violent policing. Let students lives return to normal."
Ong later tweeted on Tuesday evening that her passport had been confiscated, but she was hoping to have it returned in time for the Bali 2022 WE Championships taking place from 3 to 4 December.
Ong was invited to the event as a mentor, according to a tweet from Alliance's Twitter account.

Protests in China

Chinese protesters have staged several days of demonstrations against the country's "zero-COVID" measures in cities all across China, including Beijing and Shanghai.
The protests were triggered last Thursday after a fire at an apartment building in China’s Muslim-majority Xinjiang province, with videos appearing to show that lockdown measures had delayed firemen from reaching the victims.
At least 10 people died as a result of the fire, which saw a Chinese official offering a rare formal apology for the blaze, according to AFP reports.
The unprecedented protests have even seen calls for the resignation of Chinese president Xi Jinping.

Because they know their rights. Even PAP dare not touch them.

Article 14 of the Constitution of Singapore, specifically Article 14(1), guarantees to Singapore citizens the rights to freedom of speech and expression, peaceful assembly without arms, and association
