Chinatown has never been to its good old heydays since the govt modernised/commercialised it. Had the govt left it alone, it would surely continue to boom on its own engine. Who wants a regimental sanitized Chinatown? The successful Chinatown model is in every part of the world.. S'pore had really taken the China out of its Chinatown.

I don't think it'll see a revival of business ever. :(

geez pay these ministers millions in tax payer money to come up with such a stupid rules...reminds me of a Colombo scholar who once headed a department I was in, implemented a scheme of awarding demerit points to an entire section based on one person misdoings could be a case of being late etc..in the other affected the morale of the staff that resignation at that time was an all time record, 16 personnel out of 100 had already resigned by April of that year...

I mean come on, instead of thinking of a scheme to motivate the staff by giving merit points and rewarding them, this idiotic scholar thought that the best way to motivate is to place disincentives...

That motherfucker looks so fucking sissy like a chao ah gua...I think if he had ever gone for serious army training, his ass would probably have been split wide open..i was the 16th person to leave and before i left i gave the department head a good ass whooping...totally screw up leadership..
