Bed Ridden Patients Line Up In Corridor

Still think 6.9 million population is a good idea?

This is what inevitably happens when healthcare is turned into a profit-maximizing business. Hospital bed occupancy will be deliberately kept as high as possible, not unlike hotel occupancy or condo occupancy. One additional empty bed means less income opportunity for the cronies in the healthcare groups who run the hospitals.

Consequently, there is little or no leeway for additional spare beds which cater to sudden spikes in hospitalization numbers.

Malaysian FT Khaw is now ruining flats just like he ruined hospitals. Just like Yaacob Ibrahim, Lui Tuck Yew and Wong Kan Seng, your 'punishment' for screwing up big time is to get transferred quietly to another portfolio or to the catch-all dumping ground called the Prime Minister's Office. Singapore will be ruined by this bunch of nincompoops playing incestuous musical chairs with our taxpayer money.

Please address them correctly  since Yaacob Ibrahim is now in charge of something "brainy" other than flood waters & tong sampan...the shitty press nowadays address him as , Dr. Yaacob or Dr. Ibrahim...if you have not noticed!

Everytime you praise the PAP, I gagged. If I am not careful, I could gagged to death. Someday, it will happen.

Back to the issue ...a single payer system is the most cost efficient way to provide health care to the population and save the people a lot of dough.

Yeah all these systems best and provide full coverage, including outpatient specialist consultation and tests. Not like our insurance policies all half baked and yet expensive, only providing for hospital stays and operations but not those illness that require expensive outpatient specialist consultation and medication.

You will notice, that when you go to hospital or rather warded in...you become a "supermarket" to them....every conceivable specialists will come & see & offer their services to you....the last of all, would be the undertaker ( not the wrestler)!! ha ha ha

You must try out all the equipments bought...their latest x-ray..probes..scanners etc... you pay for the testing....

That will be ideal. But usually go to hospital is after seeing certain specialist and certain condition already diagnosed, unless go in unconscious and no visible injuries then maybe need more investigation.

The problem is all these specialist consultation before the known problem and hospital stay cannot be claimed unless within one or few months. And these consultation and tests are very costly. Like last time I got one relative checked everywhere cannot diagnose until finally know it is bone cancer. Luckily he was retired school teacher on pension scheme with fully paid medical. If not more likely people will stop checking one specialist after another and just let it be and delay treatment.

Did he check with the undertaker too?? ( not the wrestler)?? My point is, if you are warded....they will get all sort of specialists to come see you, some of them duplicate each other, & in the past you will need only 1, 2 or maybe 3....you have the eye specialist, the nutritionist, the podiatrist, the psychologist , then under that, you have occupational & other, even the psychiatrist...the.....depending on what you are warded for...you become a walk in or warded in or wheeled in.....HUMAN SUPERMARKET!!...medical one..

PAP supporter: Stop complaining about sleeping along hospital corridors; you are lucky to have a bed.

Is this what we have been reduced to?

We have to count our blessings to get a bed in the hospital corridor?

Yes nowadays PAP supporters and foreigners are always reminding Singaporeans how lucky we are. Like this case, can sleep on hospital corridor better than sleep outside. It is really sickening and we should ask these people to shut up. We are paying sky high price, it is not free or Rm1 healthcare, so why should we sleep on corridor?!
