I'm considering working in Singapore (in healthcare, not IT). I've spoken to a recruiter as well as a friend who has recently moved there and I would be earning around SGD $4300 plus 500-600 housing allowance a month. May or may not get $5000 relocation allowance.
Am I mad for even considering this (current salary above AUD $70,000)?
(I don't care for expat lifestyle, don't drink alcohol, don't chew gum, don't care about nightlife, don't need condo with pool etc, I could live in a 2 bedroom HDB flat) I'm mainly looking at it from a point of view of better work/job opportunities and living in Asia (wife is from Philippines) as well as I like the more conservative attitudes, the school system, I don't think the government control is such a bad thing.
