PAP supporters have been making wild accusations against Low Thia Khiang, claiming he and his Town Council were profiteering from residents.
Now, think about this: if Low and The Workers' Party really did that, why aren't they moving to a swankier and more comfy venue to hold their MPS?
Why do they have to settle for the void deck and having to put up with the sweltering heat and humidity to hold the weekly MPS?
In contrast, take a look at Victor Lye and his gang, comfortably ensconced in their air-conditioned office holding his own MPS under the auspices of the People's Association, despite not having been elected by the people.
As the late American civil rights leader Martin Luther King once said:
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
We urge Singaporeans with a conscience to continue this fight against the tyranny of the majority and unconscionable stupidity of many who choose short term material gains over long term good of the country.
Now is the time to really make your voice count. Join the grassroots movement of the Workers' Party and SDP and make a positive contribution.
To quote King again:
"There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right."
