根据《新报》报道，反贪污调查局日前针对贪污嫌疑，召集5名高级警官进行访问。
据了解，被录口供的高级警官，包括警署署长、警署调查部门主管及警方某个部门的署长。
退休警官告诉《新报》，当局进行调查时，传召数名证人是正常的。
不愿透露姓名的前警长说，即使一个人是嫌犯，调查人员也得传召另5名证人问话。
“被录口供，并不代表那个人有罪。”
身为前警员的律师嘉达星（Kertar Singh）告诉记者，反贪污调查局通常会彻底调查，调查后再由总检察署决定是否将涉嫌贪污者告上法庭，或交由内部处理。
“警方下一步会如何处理，得依涉嫌贪污者的罪行而定。”

Sources said officers from the Corrupt Practices Investigations Bureau (CPIB) have called up five senior police officers for interviews.

Those who have given their statements include heads of investigation of police divisions, a Neighbourhood Police Centre commanding officer and the director of a police department.


It is normal practice to call up several witnesses when conducting an investigation, said retired police officers.

A former police investigator, who declined to be named, said: "Even when one person may be a suspect, an investigator will have to call up five other witnesses.

"Giving a statement does not suggest guilt."

The CPIB is an independent body under the Prime Minister's Office and it investigates alleged corruption in the private and public sectors.

When contacted about the probe, a CPIB spokesman said: "We are unable to comment." _Back to News

not a surprise. A lot of these high ranking officers are seen at Nightclub with dubious characters or so called businessman. Ask around and people will tell you they are Deputy Head Invest from the land divisions. A few of those above the ranks of Supt. are linked to Ah Long San but not call up for investigations when the case unveil in late 90s. They were protected cos they have strong networks and still managed to climb up the Org. Normally those nabbed by CPIB are those that can be sacrificed and used to make up numbers. Many other higher ranking ones continue to enjoy life and enjoy perks given to them by hanky panky businessman. These are the ones who really abused their powers due to their high ranks
