A third contractor Ssangyong for the Downtown Line Stage 2 (DTL2) project, has gone into receivership.

This follows the bankruptcy of two other DTL2 contractors, Alpine Bau and Samdaiyang Development last year.

2014 appears to be turning out to be a jinxed year for Singapore under PM Lee. We wonder if it has to do with his owl?

Isn't this a Korean company? Also, its not a small company. It has big projects all over the world. Maybe it's the corruption within the company that bankrupt itself. Korean company are well known for it.

This issue has already been spotted a few years ago, nobody did any shit about it, and allowed things to rot even further.

As to whether DTL2 will be delayed or not? My bet is yes, unfortunately. :(

the contractor with the lowest bid will usually gets the job...thereafter these jokers will think of ways and means to ali baba here....ali baba there;....just looked at what happened to the circle line....just over 2 years in service and u see cable faults here and there....

Frankly speaking, Sinkapore projects are very difficult to handle. Lots of demands and paperwork involved. Best thing is still screw up after all these.
