Hahahahaha, highest paid Million $ Ministers like the dumb cunt Josephine Teo, got so much time on their hands, they can spend it looking into imposing speed limits on bicyclists in the public parks? One 3 year old boy got langar by bike and ended up with chip tooth is now the focus of a Minister's investigation into imposing speed limits? Hey Josephine, accidents happen all the time. Why don't the dumb cunt impose 5kph speed limit on all roads in Singapore, then there will be even less car accidents and injuries/deaths, right? Really, pay these fucking Ministers all these money and they just shake leg, nothing better to do.

Parliament: Govt looking into speed limits for cyclists on park connectors

SINGAPORE - The authorities are looking into whether to impose speed limits for cyclists on park connectors, Senior Minister of State for Transport Josephine Teo said on Friday (Jan 29).

A committee headed by Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Social and Family Development, will look into the issue.

Mrs Teo revealed this in a reply to Jurong GRC MP Tan Wu Meng's question in Parliament on measures to protect vulnerable people on footpaths such as children and the elderly.

The question was prompted by a recent incident of a cyclist crashing into a three-year-old boy at the Sungei Serangoon Park Connector.

The child lost a tooth, and suffered from a torn lip, a cut on his chin and abrasions on his head and knee. His parents shared the incident online and it went viral.

A police report was lodged.

As if those Beng's and old men who fantasies they are F1 motocyclists will comply to speed limits!

Why don't these wet-behind-the-ears ministers learn from past to mandate registration of bicycles? And while at it, mandate these fellas to be insured so those injured by them can claim insurance for medical fees incurred!

Bicycle rider's Demerit points system:

Exceeding speed limit on a road by 1 to 20 kilometres per hour: 4 demerit points.
Fine : Small bicycle: $130 ; Big bicycle (/ rider>100kg) : $160

Exceeding speed limit for vehicle by 31 to 40 kilometres per hour: 8demerit points.

Exceeding speed limit for vehicle by more than 60 kilometres per hour= 24 demerit pts= immediate suspension from cycling for 12 weeks...

told u this country is crowded as fuck,now u hordes of prcs and indians and pinoys wandering all over the east coast park like cows in india......go to australia there are places where u can literally walk straight for 30 mins and see not a single soul or human being in sight,only houses and beach.its like the whole world or whole australia belongs to u and theres no one there to fuck up the peace and tranquility.

We should have speed limits for everything... Walking, swimming, jogging, running, jumping, etc.

Anything can be a potential risk to other people esp children and elderly.

The PAP are obviously very free with the lots of time on their hand to discuss petty rules & regulations but how are they going to enforce these rules :confused:

Are they going to set up speed traps in our parks & walkways :confused:

What kind of fines will be charged for speeding :confused:

How are you going to enforce the rules e.g. give out demerit points to minors, ah peks,... who do not have a driving license :biggrin:

I find it ridiculous that the PAP is debating on rules & regulations when they could simply have initiated a campaign on educating the public on responsible bicycle use. This campaign could have been initiated by one of the numerous civic groups instead of an overpaid MP bringing it up in parliaments :rolleyes:
