you can probably increase chatroom participation and traffic by posting a schedule of chat topics ahead of time, and make the schedule in the form of a table as a sticky. "bully pulpit" does that, and they have eager participants ready to jump in depending on the day/hour and topic discussed. chatrooms will die if they are free-flowing with no organized schedules and interesting themes or topics such as dating, pimping, sex, money and/or politics. :p
