Why there some stupid foolx asking stupid question. Either he is not Singaporean or he is a retard.

i was thinking the former actually. truth be told, seiko watches are already very mainstream/reasonably priced. its not like other luxury watch brands, so why do you need to know where to get it cheaper? most shops stocking seiko don't differ by much in terms of price.

My experience is that Tokyo might actually be one of the most expensive places to get a Seiko watch. It has got to do with their tax structure and export subsidies. In the past many Japanese would actually go on shopping sprees for Japanese goods in places like London and New York where there goods are cheaper.

maybe in tokyo japan

Agent for Alba watches in the mid 70s too. No idea if they are today.

Looked at their website & they are still agents for Alba & Seiko

I am surprised that Seiko is still doing well at a time that handphones & Rolexs are replacing simple time pieces.

Try Mustafa, near their clocks section they have the cheaper but without guarantee Seiko Super 5 watches. It does not matter since they are quite reliable. Overall the the current stocks are built cheaper without locking crowns for divers watches. Their automatic movement watches will run for around 12 hrs if you don't wear them. Go for metal straps and their rubber ones will break in time.

An uncle of mine told me his Seiko last over 20 plus years and still working fine...

Are those Mustafa seiko(near the clock section) genuine? They are quite cheap (100-150)..but they are not from authorised Thong Sia dealer. I don't think they are fakes..as Thong Sia just said they are parallel imports,,,very vague statements..

its not they are cheaper ..because some japanese products for example have their own overseas angmo designer ...those japanese who buy japanese brand oversea might just want the same japanese brand but different designer . same like DnG , LV , GUCCI ...ect those brand have their own japanese designer for their own japan market .

Not in demand. Original also cheap. Unlikely to have copy. Same for Bossini products.

My Thai friend once told me he would have arrived on the big stage if his products were copied.

..

I bought my Seiko in the 80's for $180. It was still running after 20+ years  I think it still runs except that I need to replace the battery.
The only thing you need to replace other than the battery every 5 years is the rubber gasket, which keeps it water proof. It's a great watch & in a year it will only be off by under 1 minute.

The reason I stopped wearing the watch was because the metal wrist band broke after 20 years, & not the watch:smile:
Nowadays I don't even wear a watch because because the handphone I carry has a digital clock..

Bro,
not sure if you would spend so much for a Seiko...I'll stick to an Omega in this price range...or stick to the Seiko Kinetic range..imho

I have to agree you on this one. Grand Seiko is grand only for japanese, and their supporters and fans. The rest of the world will look at Europe if they want to pop serious cash on a wrist watch. No doubt i seen it in person, it is of very high quality. But it is still a copy of swiss watch design, so for that price, why get a high quality copy, just get the real lower quality thing.

The first watch I bought with my own pay & with my first ever big fat bonuses, was a Seiko Digital Watch, the one that was featured in a James Bond Movie. That digital has very basic function, but back then, it was a class of its own. Used that for more than a decade, I bought another 'expensive' Seiko dress watch, the round face in Gold ( not real gold), known as a dress watch, that was for important functions & dinners.

Still have the Seiko I bough in the 80's  Last time I looked it was still working & although I don't use it anymore it should still work. Probably need to replace the battery. Seiko watches are great but if I decide to get another watch it will be a wind up model.

Wind ups are considered old fashion but at my age I appreciate those retro models. I would probably get an Omega Speedmaster, the watch that went to the moon:eek: A few years back I almost bought one. There are more expensive watches out there but non have been to the moon:smile:
