Blame PAP?
SDP is not the government.
SDP is not the government.
neither do that offer any constructive suggestion or opinion to help the nation.
SDP has offered constructive suggestions to have a more open society where the media takes its social responsibility more seriously and provides balance reporting, where the judiciary should be free from executive influence, and civil and political rights be returned to S'poreans etc.
Your average hawker does not want to hear just freedom. He wants to know what will happen to the economy if there is a change of power.
SDP only contested one GRC. How on earth did you come to the conclusion that SDP can form the next govt?
The objective of a political party is to gain as much power in parliament as possible. Any political party is to prescribe views on issues pertaning to be people and society not just to show the bad of their opposing side. The liberal democrats in the uk don't have the power to form a new government yet they remark on issues like trade agreements. Do you see the WP, SDA or your darling SDP doing that?
The objective of S'pore opposition parties is to win at least a GRC, not to contest for the mandate to rule S'pore.
Their objective is also to critically comment on any thing or to support government actions (if they seem viable). By doing so, they can win more support. This goes for Chiam and Low too, the tow who are comfortably sitting there.
Chee's, SDP's and its supporters' objective is to level the political playing field for opposition, which is even better.
That's not what the people want first.
A level field will lower the entry of barriers to politics, draw able men and women to join the opposition and give S'poreans a viable political alternative, which is what the people want.
Protesting will not feed/attract people. Ideas will and all oppo teams lack ideas.
Creating jobs is the responsibility of the govt.
Presenting alternative ideas or agreeing with is the job of the oppo, not just protesting.
