How many third world trained foreign doctors are there in Singapore ?

I read in this forum before someone said most of the pinoy doctors cannot pass as doctors in the first world and have to work as nurses there. Why is MOH allowing these rejects to work freely as doctors in Spore?

I do NOT trust almost all ah neh and pinoy doctors when I go and see them for any problem. even in private or public, specialist or GP all the same. even local doctors who are trained overseas ie MBBS from some junk universities in Ireland australia or UK. nowadays alot of such crap "assasins". heard alot of these universities do not bother about their A level grades. C and D also can get in. take in stupid A level students just because their parentrs can pay for the very expensive uni fees. afterall brains is still the most important criteria. who bothers about nice bed side manners or doctor who speak well when they would probably kill you with their incompetence .heard alot of medical school nowadays are nothing but business ventures. after passing these idiots they tell them to buzz off back to thier own country or singapore as no place for them tp cause harm to their local people. alot of bull sh!tters nowadays. see all those shitty adverts. best to double check with a local doctor friend even for specialists nowadays. liposuction is just an exampple. so many deaths due to stupid and incompetent people who does things for money.

they are doing very well, travel much for holidays using budget airlines and deals, feel very happy and lucky to live in sg, and have very positive outlooks. and their numbers will climb to 69.69% before the next ge.

my shift has just started.

Sure or not, almost every other day got one PMET turned taxi driver sob story in this forum. The percentage can only decline from 60 percent.

More sinkies should have done the same. They have the advantage because they are actually born and bred here. Besides, going overseas to work allows them to skip annual ICT. They can stay abroad till they are almost forty, and the SAF would have forgotten about them. At worst, they only need to serve one or two cycles of reservist, unlike the rest of their friends who have to do the 10 year or 13 year cycle.

If foreigners are so willing to travel around the world to work and learn, why are sinkies so pampered and spoilt? Why are sinkies so unwilling to step out of their comfort zone to ensure their own survival and prosperity? In this age, a growing number of people in Third World countries have also received tertiary education. Do most sinkies still think that the almost every pinoy, chink and Ah Neh they meet has barely primary school education like in the past?

That is becos Spore is like USA being the land of opportunities and so no need for citizens to go explore other bigger opportunities. If Spore has a next door neighbour with plentiful job opportunities that pay 2.6 times salary and is so welcoming to foreigners, I am sure 80% of Singaporeans would have left to work there without any urging by anyone.

Sinkees have been brainwashed by the PAP to be straight. That's why most sinkees are not successful operating beyond the borders of sinkapore. Everything must be black or white. Any nuances throw them off.
This foreigner dares to hide his conviction ....sinkee can sabo him by informing his clients of his conviction ....sinkees won't dare to do that.

This foreigner is young and came to sinkapore because our employers are suckers for foreigners. He didn't go elsewhere ...why? Because no other country would take him, only sinkapore would. That he turned out to be a pedophile shows the type of foreigners that flock to this island. That is the crux of the matter.

Yeah only Spore govt makes it easy for any foreigners to work in Spore, foreigners even can find job while on social visit pass. Other country govts, including third world govts, are all higher standard than Spore govt to allow that.

Why is the PAP so adamant in chasing sinkees to leave their country? We want to live here. We have the opportunities here but for the fact that the PAP gives them all to foreigners.

Foreigners are here because sinkapore offers them the opportunity, not many countries allow foreigners to come and steal jobs from citizens. And the foreigners we get are craps, yet the PAP government calls them talents.
PAP government treats foreigners like god-gifts while despising the citizens. That is the problem.
Sinkees should not have to leave the country to seek a better life.

You are very correct, why should jobs be given to foreigners while Sporeans are expected to go overseas to work? Only shitty govt will dare to suggest that to citizens.

I am not sure why you think this is a bad thing. Many of the foreign PMETs who come to Singapore to work don't feel shortchanged even if it means leaving home. I have family members and friends who are working overseas right now, and most of them are quite happy. They get to see more of the world, earn more, gain professional expertise, which in turn open new doors to other countries. And yes, they use those foreign countries as springboard to other foreign countries. Some eventually came back to singapore, treated on par with skilled expats. No one is asking sinkies to go overseas to be maids or whores or construction workers.

For sure! Which is why I decided to leave when I could.

You can't blame the government for everything though. This "brainwashing" happens to everyone in Singapore but not everyone is "brainwashed". Otherwise there would not be people like me. Everyone has to stand for themselves and take responsibility for their failures and successes.

No point blaming others and waiting for others to solve your problems.

Oh you are a doctor. May I ask for your help to interpret this comment? The stupid ah neh doctor said my blood test result is normal but after I read it at home I saw this paragraph that said:

"Excess EDTA causes spurious thrombocytosis, shrinkage and degenerative changes in red and white cells".

Is this comment something that I should be concerned of? thank you in advance.

At least the doctors, if well-trained, are competent professionals who can benefit society. Doctors are in demand everywhere.

Those SAF scholars, on the other hand, are mostly not worth a fuck. And they're picked by the PAP govt as leaders: within the PAP, in stat boards, public institutions etc.

That is true. Without any business experience, they are only a drag to performance.

Yes they really can't be trusted. The stupid ah neh doctor can't even draw blood properly. I saw this comment in my blood test result:

"Short sample - please add blood to the mark".

You are probably looking at the Full Blood Count (FBC) or Complete Blood Count (CBC) result which includes hemoglobin, total white cell count, platelets among other differential counts.

The EDTA is a compound that is found in the purple blood tubes we use to transport the blood sample for the FBC. It prevents the blood from clotting. All the tubes used (vacutainers) these days have a vaccuum set amount where if you stick the needle into the tube it will draw the right amount of blood. I can't remember how much the EDTA tube vaccuum is but I think it is 1-2 mls at most.

My guess is that the tube was not fully filled which is why the lab put the comment. Excess EDTA in relation to amount of blood in the sample tube.

Thrombocytosis refers to an increase in the platelet count. Is your platelet level increased? If not don't worry about it. (most time we are more worried about low platelet counts ie thrombocytopenia which can result in bleeding issues. A common cause in Singapore is dengue fever).

As for the red and white cell counts, if they are normal I will probably just not bother. If there are abnormalities then maybe consider re-taking a sample for a repeat test.

Did you go to the Polyclinic? All Polyclinic blood is usually taken by lab techs, not by the doctors.

I am glad I left Singapore. I find the Singaporean patients never trust doctors in general. Makes it very hard to practice. Constantly questioning and second guessing the doctor. There are various reasons for this of course but most of it is cultural. Medicine in general is not a field I would recommend people to go into. As it is the smart kids in Singapore are all going into finance these days. Clever. Medicine is not worth it.

Wow you are very kind to give me a detailed explanation, thank you very much.

My platelet level is 186 and not increased. Red blood cell count is normal, white blood cell count is above range (7.95 vs 7.5) and monocyte is above range (12.5% vs 10%). Are the readings normal?

Oh I went to hospital A&E as referred by the polyclinic doctor and my blood was drawn by the A&E doctor. Is that normal procedure for doctors to draw blood at A&E? If the tube is automatic vacuum set to fill right amount of blood, then the A&E ah neh doctor still can draw not enough blood is really no standard.

I think medicine is a very noble profession and good field to go in. Can make alot of money and can help people at the same time, much better than finance that is only about money.

The numbers you posted on your blood count are all normal.

Normal for A&E docs yo draw blood. But it has been 4 years since i last worked in Singapore A&E. There are two ways to draw blood. One is using a syringe and needle and the other is to have an adapter with a needle and then stick the vacutainer tube in the other end of the adapter.

With syringe and needle sometimes take too little blood or the blood stays in the syringe too long and clots or lysis because draw too quickly. But you can see flash back and know you are in vein so good for diffcult veins. With the other method overall better but in inexperienced hands results in multiple pokes.

Medicine a noble field? Then why are people saying ah neh doctor this and that? Seriously people don't trspect doctors. They just want doctors to give them what they want and expect. The doctor that does they say is a good doctor. The one who doesn't is a crap doctor. People have no idea what is good practice of medicine and what is bad.

Doctors are paid to see patients and not produce results for patients. So the doctor who makes patients happy by giving them what they want but not necessarily good practice of medicine sees patients faster than the one who spends time thinking through the problem to try to get a solution. The former earns more money than the latter.

You can work very hard and help people and do good and nobody gives a damn. No bonus no extra. You make one mistake and everyone is all over you saying you are horrible. Medicine sucks as a means to make money if you ask me. Like prostitute see one client at a time. Too fast they upset. Too slow dont make enough. No tips even!

And patients very often will talk bad about doctors behind their backs and in front of them say wah this doctor good and so on.

Medicine as volunteer charity ok lah. But make money just go make money like in banking finance etc. Nobody will question why banker make money. Doctors nurses teachers all these vocation type stuff must be poor and charitable etc. In this day and age that way of remuneration is passe.

Average income of family physician in Ontario is $250k. If you are not getting that in Alberta, time to move east.

Doctors are well protected in Ontario. The insurance company that provides liability insurance for Ontario doctors will always go to court when a doctor being sued. That's why so few suits succeed. Most plaintiffs can't afford the process. When they complain to the College, the whole process is shrouded in secrecy and often the doctors get away, even with crimes as the College does not pass on the information to law enforcement.
A recent survey found that doctors are most trusted. So, you are highly regarded in Canada.
