Although his father is one of the 60% he doesn't support the PAP. He only votes for them because he is a teacher & as a teacher he will lose his job if he doesn't vote PAP:rolleyes:

same as those dumbfucks who vote for PAP with the belief that their property prices stay high.

Many of the 60% must have some kind of ties to the gov't e.g. civil servants, GLCs, teachers,... Easily threatened with with a lose of a job, lost of privilege,...etc
All the PAP has to do is to pick a few as examples & use them as examples to scare everyone else into line.

The 40% aren't as easily cowed since they are just "lesser mortals" with nothing to loose.
As more people loose their jobs to foreigner, there will be more who are willing to vote for the opposition.

Many of the young voters fall into the 2nd category. As things stand now there isn't much of a future for them.

your votes r secret ....

TT is Roman Catholic, and therefore unlikely to be from ACS
TT is not a Catholic. He worships at Wesley Methodist? LBH is a Catholic. He came from Montfort as did Lee Boon Hiang and Ng Kok Song. So there are some from surburban mission schools that made it. SD is from VS.

I heard this sad story and was wondering if this is something that is becoming prevalent now.

As we know, RI takes in the best students from every public school after PSLE each year. He was one of them. To cut along story short, he was found dead, alone and jobless for a long while. He took his own life. The Police used his cell phone to call around and found someone who recognised him as his ex schoolmate and a school footballer. This ex-schoolmate then rallied the rest of his ex-schoolmates who readily agreed to share the cost of the funeral.

I also heard that RI boys annual reunions which are a regular thing have by word of mouth agreed not to discuss about employment or where the live in view of some becoming unemployed or underemployed.

How our society has changed? By the way this story should be known by those in top ranks of our society as they contributed to the funeral.

If an Ri boy can't make it in our new World, who can?

Its a common lament, scrooby.
A biz-partner of mine is active in ORA.
He shared that typically at 20-year reunions, they'd be flashing cards as directors of govt bodies or partners of wall-street bean counters or big 4.
At 30-year reunions the mood is more subdued, with many even skipping it altogether to avoid admissions of joblessness, bankruptcy, fraud, divorces etc.

They should have emigrated to NZ with me. They'd be so much happier.

Some have gone kia-ora down south.
Problem is they miss the city bustle a fter a couple of years and head back home, but not before buying up hotels and motels..

There are many RI boys that deserve to die, what's the big deal? Those RI old boys that should be dead and buried are now in the Parliament, in the Cabinet, or in assorted scholarship positions.

This is one of the biggest problem with Singaporean. Like to show off with name cards, credit cards, car labels....

During my reservist days, I met a new chap. Someone asked him what he was doing. He replied, " I drive very big vehicle." and change subject immediately. We were in the same Bn for many years and only much later did he tell me that he was a pilot. A really amazing humble chap. Not typical of those who would bluff their wives that they need to stay in so that they can go havoc during ict.
