Match just ended:
Man City 6 Spurs 0

Poor AVB...................... :o

Spurs were VERY poor. City just walked all over them. All those millions spent on Soldado and Paulinho just pissed into the drain.

AVB is walking on very thin ice and will not be surprised if Levy shows him the door.

If he survives, Man Utd next week.

Wasn't this dude refused a work permit or something as I recall?

The original head of recruitment left already, some hoohaa over this with Mackay the manager too, there were reports he felt undermined.

The reports also said that the 20+ yo was already hired, didn't hear anything about work permits, perhaps that's the latest, I dunno................

Finally.. finally.. finally... i have been waiting for Roma to lose.. BUT got the greatest escape in the dying minutes! While i admire their dramatic shot stopper, i don't like them to be dependant on their keeper. Hurrah!!

Hardly surprising but I thought AVB or Chris Houghton would have been shown the door first!

Robben’s celebration fail results in horrific knee-burn

By Eurosport | Early Doors – Sat, Nov 30, 2013 19:03 GMT

It's the goal celebration every youngster dreams of.

You smash one into the net and you sprint off to the corner-flag and give it a massive knee-slide in front of your adoring fans.

It looks cool, it's emphatic and most of all, it's easy.

Or at least it should be.

Enter Arjen Robben, who scored both goals for Bayern Munich in their 2-0 win over Eintracht Braunschweig today.

You'd think a man of his goalscoring pedigree - over 150 strikes for club and country, including the winner in the Champions League final - would have no problem executing a knee-slide.

But you'd be wrong. The Dutchman fell came a cropper as his red thermal tights - apparently velcro-coated - produced such friction on landing that Robben was catapulted through the air before landing with an embarrassing bump.

Just look at the damage done to the poor man's knees - Mrs Robben will be reaching for the Dettol tonight.

Maybe stick to a handshake next time, eh?

Here's a quick reminder of how it should be done.

Martin Jol 2nd manager sacked.
Next up... who?

Owen Coyle just got shown the door by Wigan.

Martin Jol third in BPL this season. First was Paolo Di Canio of Sunderland and second was Ian Holloway of Crystal Palace.

Owen Coyle did great at Burnley, then was good for a while at Bolton, but has really gone into reverse.
Dave Whelan is not a chairman who sacks managers easily, something must have happened to get him to pull the trigger so fast.

It was always gonna be a tough ask for anyone to step into Martinez's shoes but I agree, there is something more to this than just Wigan's on field performance.
They are currently only 6 points off a play-off spot in the Championship and promotion is still possible at this point in the season.

There is a full fixture list of BPL games this midweek.

Man Utd vs Everton traditionally won't be considered a big game, but I reckon this is the biggest game of the season for David Moyes.

There's plenty of connections between Man Utd and Everton other than Moyes.
Ex Everton players Rooney and Fellaini (who will probably be playing since Phil Jones is suspended), ex Man Utd players Tim Howard and Darren Gibson (who won't be playing) and of course former Man Utd and Everton player and current Man Utd coach Phil Neville.

Moyes really needs to get a result tonite (i.e win) anything less and the Premiership title is surely over. Martinez has made a good start at Everton, wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they nick a win.
Personally, I don't think Fellaini has gelled into the Man Utd midfield. Certainly his performances are no where near as good as when he played for Everton. For £28m, I would have expected a lot more.

Another interesting game is West Brom against Man City. On paper City should walk this one but their performance away from the Eithad has been dreadful.
