Jah have you used MacBook before? You will not regret I guarantee. After a while when you look at the person beside you starting up and shutting down their WIN platforms you'll you like me now wondering why people are still using it. No virus so far too without any protection, go raw. If you need MS Office I found the Mac full version is pretty inexpensive too.

If you really need 100% Windows compatibility get a copy of Parallel or VM. Or use Boot Camp which is included FOC with any Mac note book.

I chose Parallel. Even though Apple provides a copy of Boot camp, with the Parallel SW you don't have to restart the Mac to get into dedicated Windows mode. I've re-used my Windows XP in my Mac note book.

Very true. Why would anyone use the piece of shit that is windows

Some may be attracted by the cheaper Windows hardware. They don't realise that the attraction of a Mac is not only with the hardware but also with the OS. It's more elegant & trouble free.

If U are only using it for work and serve the net, wait for the MS Surface Pro to reach SG. Ultrabook specs in Tablet form with a decent keyboard

A Mac is a PC with an Intel processor. The reason I got Parallel was so that I could run Microsofts Internet Explorer under Windows. That's the platform that one of my brokers only supports.

Many brokers such as Think or Swim in the US support the Mac & I think it is a safer environment because it is less suceptible to trojans, viruses, etc. The only reason to get a PC is if you want to do forex & need to hook up multiple monitors.

However I notice that many brokers now support the iPad. Don't know what kind of tools you will be using but for me I'm looking for the simplest platform without all the unecessary bells & whistles.

PS: I don't play games.
