George Gamow one of the early advocates of Nog Bang Theory had a dream, during which he saw two entwining snakes. He told his friends Jim Watson and Francis Crick who together with Maurice Wilkins were awarded the Nobel Prize for Discovering the DNA structure. So we can say that a cosmologist created the DNA from a dream.

On the mutation part, wasn't it a great concern that bird flu virus could mutate from being passed from bird to bird, to bird to animal and eventually from man to man. That viruses do mutate and evolve into more resistant strains seems an established fact as some antibotics (although not having a direct effect on the virus but has an indirect effect via the environment, be it the bacteria cluster or humam being) were rendered ineffective against certain viruses after some time. Not only antibiotics but chemicals like DDT were rendered non-effective after a while. If you want to see evolution within a short time, you can look at the microscopic world.

physical laws aren't set by anyone or entity, anthropomorphising every aspect of the physical world did help our ancestors understand this world a little better but only to a certain extend, and now logic and rational thinking is helping us understand the physical world a little more
the state of energy fields and the behavior of the particles seems to obey a certain rule but yet at the quantum level, it is almost in utter chaos. these physics laws are merely the best fit for descriptions of the physical world. long ago scientists though the world was flat, then they thought it was a perfect sphere, now we understand it is slightly oblong and it wobbles. if anyone had a better proof of what the physical law should be, the scientific community gladly accept it.
