Bun Lover
1 year ago (edited)Very true. I grow up in China, but have been living in Canada for 20 years. Few years ago, went back for a visit. I was just walking in a park and saw a guy pocket picking from a couple sitting on a bench. So immediately I stopped him. I thought he would run, but he just stood there staring at me. I walked away. He followed me! I was supposed to meet a friend at her apt. He and another guy followed me all the way to the building. Before I could call my friend, they came to me said if I tried to intervene ever again, they will cut my face. I was in shock of course. My friend was not home yet. So I left the apt. The couple I helped was waiting at the apt gate. They saw the guys were following me and wanted to make sure I was ok. They waited with me until my friend showed up. It was very nice of them. It was a scary experience. If I am alone, I would definitely think twice of helping someone in China. It is a very sad reality!
