Passenger tries to kill himself in aircraft toilet during XiamenAir flight [Viewer discretion advised]

A man has attempted to kill himself in the toilet of an aircraft during a XiamenAir flight earlier today.
According to The Mirror, the man was found by cabin crew after repeatedly banging his head against the wash basin during a flight from Haikou, Hainan province to Xiamen, Fujian province.
Two men travelling with the passenger said that he suffered from depression and was likely suicidal. Around 45 minutes into the flight, attendants heard a loud banging noise coming from the aircraft toilet.
After knocking on the door and hearing no response from its occupant, staff opened the door using a key and found the man continuing to bash his head against the basin. Blood was reportedly pouring from his wounds.
Flight attendants managed to calm the man down and applied bandages to his head. Despite the gruesome image suggesting the man lost a lot of blood, he was apparently not seriously injured and able to get off the plane after landing in Xiamen with other passengers.
