Eight youths arrested for rioting in Pasir Ris

SINGAPORE - The police have arrested eight youths aged between 15 and 20 who are believed to be involved in a case of rioting at Pasir Ris Street 21.
The police were alerted at about 8.55pm last Thursday. At the scene, officers found two youths injured. The two were sent to Changi General Hospital.
After investigations, the alleged assailants were identified. All eight suspects were arrested for the offence of rioting.
Preliminary investigation shows the rioting took place over a staring incident.
Those found guilty of rioting can be jailed for up to seven years and may also be caned.
Investigation into the case is still ongoing.
Individuals found guilty of rioting face a jail term of up to seven years, and caning.
