A man in his 60s was taken to hospital after barricading himself inside a flat at Block 79, Marine Drive on Wed (Apr 15).
He was later found lying in his flat with what is believed to be self-inflicted stab wounds and pronounced dead at Changi General Hospital.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force and the police were activated. Two inflatable safety life air packs were deployed, reports The New Paper.
Three officers entered the seventh-storey unit through the windows at about 3pm.
The man had injuries on his face including a cut on his forehead. He was taken away on a stretcher and placed in an ambulance.
The police have classified the case as an unnatural death and investigations are ongoing, reports The Straits Times.
A police spokesman said they received a call for assistance at 10.51am. They activated the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), which deployed two inflatable safety life air packs and a safety net as a "precautionary measure".
