A Singaporean woman, who was cheated of S$1.1 million in assets by her former tour guide, has passed away at the age of 98.
Chung Khin Chun passed on Oct. 25, and was cremated two days later, according to information shared with 8world.

The woman's niece also confirmed with 8worldthat Chung had passed away peacefully with no illnesses.
Chung, who used to be a physiotherapist, had accumulated wealth but had no children.
She became a widow when her husband died in 2007.
Her death brought an end to the legal saga that saw the ex-tour guide, Yang Yin, sentenced to a total of 11 years and two months' jail for a series of offences in 2016.
Their relationship
Chung and Yang met in 2008, when he was her private tour guide during a China trip.
A year later, he moved into her bungalow in Yio Chu Kang.

In 2011, he brought his wife and two young children to the country and into the bungalow as well.
Yang claimed that the elderly woman wanted him to be her "grandson".
Based on a will Chung wrote in 2010, Yang would inherit all of her assets, estimated to be worth some S$40 million.
Chung also gave him lasting power of attorney in 2012 to manage her welfare and financial affairs.
Yang's prosecution
In 2014, Chung's niece and guardian, Hedy Mok, sued Yang for manipulating her aunt into giving him control of her assets.
During the trial in August 2016, Yang pleaded guilty to misappropriating S$500,000 in February 2010 and S$600,000 in January 2012 — a total of S$1.1 million from Chung.
He was ultimately convicted of two offences of criminal breach of trust for misappropriating this sum.
After serving more than seven years in prison, he was released and deported from Singapore on Jun. 9, 2022, and banned from re-entering the country.

Soon after his deportation, Mok told Shin Min Daily News that her aunt was glad Yang was no longer around.
