SINGAPORE : Veteran Singapore actress Yang Lina died of cervical cancer on Saturday night. She was 47.

According to Chinese newspaper Lianhe Wanbao, Yang, the elder sister of actress Yang Libing, was diagnosed with cervical cancer about four years ago but kept her sickness from the public.

She received minimally invasive surgery for her illness but her condition did not improve. The cancer cells spread forcing her to be hospitalised frequently for check-ups and surgery.

Yang, who appeared in Channel U series "Perfect Cut 2" last year, leaves behind two daughters aged 18 and 13.

she was Li Nanxing's ex-wife's older sister. Both sisters look quite alike actually.
