A person with a gun has been reported on the Yale University campus prompting a lockdown on Monday morning.The New Haven police were tipped off by an anonymous call that said the person with a gun was on the portion of the school grounds known as Old Campus.The University immediately sent out a Twitter post telling everyone on campus to shelter in place as the tip was investigated.

No one has come forward saying that they actually saw the person with the gun, as the anonymous call is the only tip prompting the school to take action.There is no information regarding what type of gun was seen or even if the gunman is male or female. The call came in from a phone booth on Columbus Avenue very close to campus.

The threat comes after a big weekend for the Ivy League school, as they hosted their annual football game against rival Harvard on Saturday.Harvard beat Yale 34-7, making them the winners for the seventh time in a row.
