Yahoo Sports ranking format for Olympics is darn stupid!!

Anyway USA is at the top of the medal count in terms of a cost to benefit ratio, their medal winners earn much less than Cheenaland and sinkieland athletes and yet achieve much better results. Furthermore their rewards given are by private sector and not like in sinkieland and others, using tax payers funds...which is nothing more than corruption and bribery,,

It matters, as it shows a particular sports program as successful and affects the size of the sports funding for any particular sport and the next generation of sporting youngsters will emulate its Olympic champions. For example, if Sun Yang or Ye Shiwen never win any swimming medal or always win bronzes, it will discourage interest, amongst other things.

Of course if one is not interested in sports and its social effect on the larger population, then nothing to say, for nothing matters, for they're non-achievers.
