No wonder Yahoo is a has-been and will die a natural death soon than later.

WTF? Ranking by total medals is brain-fucked stupid really.

Yahoo is an American company. It is well known that in American culture, quantity is more important than quality. They like fast and high scoring games such as basketball, ice hockey, American football, etc

It is no surprise that they would rank by total medals. To them, a medal is a medal.

Is the thread starter "chorut" a retard? Its called medal count and 37 is more than 34. Is this twit studying PRC maths?

No, just a pro-Tiongland fanatic who gets upset that the USA displaces China in an 'overall medal count'.

They don't always do the ranking by medals. Sometimes they do it by golds. It all depends. You know what I mean?

You better mind your manners, besides you're making a total fool of yourself. This is how Medal Count format is presented by the Official Olympics Site and many other sites on the internet, including Google:

The Olympics has always been about the GOLD medals. Nobody cares who won the silver and bronze medals. If you are not first, it is the same as coming in last.

aiya, why so upset? when track & field events, etc, start, china will fall in the ranking.

Exactly. People only remember the champion.

USA want face.
More medal but less GOLD is win. Ha ha ha................
Only USA.

Others country/Olympic/any others rank by Gold not medal.
Rank by Gold North Korea also very top ranking.

throughout modern day olympic history, USA follow the IOC count - using gold medals to rank nations

only after 2008 onwards, they change to total number of medals , just so that they top the chart, more precisely their own version of the medal table. No one is retard to use total medal chart, just by the fact they change it only after 2008, prove that they cannot accept losing to china. and yes USA full of retards in journalism.

the people who support this medal table in singapore also are retard

Excuse me? you are the insecure twit who cannot seem to understand that the USA has more medals, i.e. wins than the PRCs at the end of day 6.

LOL!!! Day 8, according to Yahoo Sports, China is still lumber 1.
....... and Australia rank higher than South Korea and Germany below Japan.

the number of medals and golds does not really matter lah!

let the people judge lah. sometimes, they consider the total medal tally!!! sometimes, they only consider the number of golds!!!

china is an all-rounded achiever.no need to count lah...period.

usa and china now neck to neck - number of golds and total medal tally....close fight.

does it really matter???
