That's according to Professor Victor Shim, the Vice-Dean (External Relations) at the National University of Singapore's (NUS) Faculty of Engineering.
As a neighbour of the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Prof Shim praised him for choosing to walk to the shops to buy groceries instead of driving, and refusing plastic bags to carry what he buys.
Prof Shim said yesterday: "It struck me that Dr Yaacob does personally practise concern and responsibility for the environment... He also drives a hybrid vehicle. I can say that here is a Minister for the Environment and Water Resources who truly walks the talk."
