台灣駐日代表謝長廷聞訊已趕往大阪了解情況。據代表處表示，謝長廷對蘇啟誠自殺很震驚，「不禁掉下悲痛的眼淚。」謝長廷還說，有關本月初關西機場救災的事，大阪辦事處不斷被拿來跟中國領事館比較，壓力不可言喻，他也多次替駐日處外館的同仁澄清說他們有辛苦做事，希望給他們公道。
