沙田昨日發生的警民衝突,共28人受傷送院,包括20男8女。醫管局說,截至上午11時半,仍有7人分別在沙田威爾斯醫院及大埔那打素醫院留院治療。
7名傷者中,有2人情況嚴重,餘下5人情況穩定。據了解,其中2名一度危殆的傷者,已經分別轉為嚴重和穩定。
昨日在沙田舉行反修訂逃犯條例遊行結束後,有示威者及防暴警察在新城市廣場內發生衝突,多名示威者、警員及記者受傷。事件中,10名警員受傷,其中一人被咬斷一截手指。

昨日下午的沙田反送中遊行後,警方與示威者對峙超過4小時,於晚上8時許開始清場,期間進入瀝源邨、沙田中心等民居,並在新城市廣場清場使用胡椒噴霧,與示威者爆發嚴重衝突,雙方均有人受傷。醫管局表示,截至凌晨12時半,有22人受傷送院,包括14男8女,其中3人嚴重、18人穩定、1人已出院。
有示威者與警員糾纏期間被扯爛上衣,被警打穿頭血流披面,有人要用氧氣罩協助呼吸。多名記者懷疑被雜物擊中受傷。警方表示,有11名警員受傷,其中一人被咬斷右手無名指其中一截,另一人被鉗夾斷手指。
警方拘捕最少40人,涉非法集結及襲警等。香港眾志表示,兩名成員和平離開期間突被警察抓捕,常委朱恩浩被防暴警察180度扭傷手腕,另一名成員廖偉濂被警察腳踢嘴角、身軀被撞至石壆,兩人涉非法集結被捕。
警務處處長盧偉聰凌晨到大埔那打素醫院,探望受傷警員,指多名警員分別被硬物擊傷。他對暴力行為予以最強烈讉責,指警方一定全力調查,追究到底。他說,警員近日受到很大壓力,努力卻只換回來各方責難。被問到警方為何在新城市廣場沒有報警的情況下進入商場,盧偉聰反問,若有干犯違法行為者走入商場,警員是否有責任入商場拘捕。

晚上7時,一眾民主派立法會議員及區議員在警方防線前坐成一排,要求見指揮官。同時,前線示威者掩護後方撤退,並不斷游說其他人離開:「要走一齊走!」、「再唔走就走唔到㗎啦!」示威者將物資傳回後方,並築成人鏈,數著「一、二、一、二」慢慢向後退至源禾路及鄉事會路交界。示威者在十字路口築起防線,與沙燕橋上的防暴警察對峙。

晚上約8時,沙燕橋上的防暴警察舉藍旗,要求示威者馬上離開。沙田鄉事會路有警員呼籲示威者循新城市廣場離開,當時示威者已往新城市廣場方向撤退,部分示威者進入好運中心以及沙田中心商場平台,警方則沿路向前推進,期間有人高處擲物,警方舉起盾牌。
晚上約9時,大批防暴警察進入瀝源邨通往沙田市中心的天橋,並要求在場人士離開。另一邊廂,有防暴警察進入沙田中心屋苑平台範圍,現場居民表示不滿,要求警察離開:「呢度私人屋苑地方,你哋走啦,冇人請你哋嚟!」、「唔該你哋走啦,你嚇親我哋啲小朋友呀。」最終該批防暴警察調頭離開現場。

是次遊行的主辦方沙田一隅,原訂在晚上8至11時,在沙田大會堂的百步梯舉行放映會,並向警方申請不反對通知書。晚上7時許,沙田一隅宣布由於放映器材未運抵場地,百步梯將舉行和平集會,有過千名市民參與。主辦方亦呼籲示威者到百步梯暫避,集會初期氣氛平靜。有市民發言時說,如非有一群年輕人在6月12日示威,《逃犯條例》修訂可能已通過:「係佢哋付出咗好大代價,我哋先有今日呢個機會。」

由於近日警民衝突加劇,不少市民自製與警察有關的標語表達不滿,又不斷大叫「黑警落地獄」、「成立獨立調查委員會」等口號。經過警方佈防位置時,遊行人士總是發出噓聲並不斷大鬧「死黑警」,有市民更大叫要和警察「隻揪」。有遊行人士自發在行車路中間的圓柱上築起連儂牆,獲得熱烈支持,不少人將自備的標語及便利貼貼上連儂牆。
