Because no Cantonese equivalent of MALAYA Chinese Tan Kah Kee to donate money to start university in Guangzhou that’s why. Only GOOD Hokkiens can make it.
m&d chinese can talk all the Cantonese but when it comes to the crunch still have to count on good Hokkien founded Xiamen University hahaha

Chinese government believes that such school can increase its influence on Southeast Asia.
