That sinkie thinks that to learn a foreign language, you must have the correct reason. If you learn foreign language with the wrong reason, your are wrong in your whole life.

whoa, then how? i took up French during my poly days, went for japanese classes under my friend's egging, picked up malay while playing soccer with my malay friends, and learnt thai from my wife. then my life's in hell, cos my language is all jumbled up. by the way, i'm chinese and i studied English. my father is teochew, so i speak teochew with my father's side. my mom is cantonese, so i speak cantonese to my mother's side. and picked up hokkien from my in-camps buddies and my encik.

anyway, TS, just relax la... it's not a perfect world anyway..
