Mr Lui Tuck Yew, the money is over here

Steady growth in directors’ fees between 2002 to 2012 and 2007 is the exceptional year which sees a 0.26 million drop in directors’ fees. There are certainly more years of upward growth in directors’ fees than in SMRT’s net profits. By 2012, directors’ fees have grown to a whopping 970% in a span of 11 years.

Despite these glowing profits and huge subsidies, bus fares have increased eight times since 2000 and seem likely to increase once again next year.

SMRT directors’ fees have skyrocketed almost 1,000% in about a decade and yet they have been raising bus fares over 8 times in about that same period!!!!

This is a SCANDAL!

But, an even bigger and more embarrassing scandal is: where the hell is our self-styled “First World Opposition” hiding during this time? Why the Wayang eunuchs don’t dare to check and supervise the government and public transport? Why Vichy WP eunuchs don’t read SMRT and public transport annual reports to ensure greater “Transparency” and “Accountability”? Why the “Co-Drivers” have no balls to “slap” PAP and SMRT directors (a public transport company) when they repeatedly raised the bus fare again and again, almost as frequent as their directors’ fees? Where the hell have Vichy WP eunuchs been sleeping and idling in the past decade?

Indeed, Vichy WP suddenly finds their balls to start questioning PAP on the bus fare hike for the very first time just a few days ago, ONLY after foreign bus drivers from China have “slapped” PAP. Does Singapore’s bunch of self-styled “魏徵” ever listen to the voices and grievances of Singaporean people in the past 10 years? Or, do they only take orders from their “Emperor” in China?

SMRT has been raising bus fares and directors’ fees almost every year…..And almost every year and without fail, our self-styled “Co-Drivers” continue to sleep and idle, without ever bother to speak up for the people as well as exposing the greed and hypocrisy of SMRT directors.

This is the kind of incompetent, ineffective, impotent “First World Opposition” who boasts that they will nationalise the SMRT and run the public transport companies themselves………as though they are running another of those “Lucky Draw” games and cutting bus services to constituencies that don’t vote for them…….. Yet, somehow these bunch of self-anointed 魏徵 don’t even bother to read or know about the company’s annual reports and study the directors’ fees.....

Singapore’s public interest must always come first……………..NOT China’s public interest.

Thank you Sir,those fucking SMRT directors should go and jump into Bedok immediately,I fully agree with you, cheers.

I have checked the figures against those posted in the SMRT annual reports.

http://www.smrt.com.sg/AboutSMRT/InvestorRelations/AnnualReports.aspx

The figures that xuyun74 posted are wrong. The directors collectively are not paid around $10M. The figure is closer to $1M. In any case, you ought to compare those 2 figures to the $1B that the govt pumped into buying new buses for SBS and SMRT.

The focus should be on nationalising SMRT. Director's pay is a relatively minor issue.
