My intel is that the joint above 'nee sern' at Eminent attracts the big towkays. Can't recall the name as my china no power. Back in school in the 60s and 70s, never anticipated the proliferation of PRC meimeis 2 decades later. If only I knew then, would have put in more effort in learning china.

When I witness my friends sien the singers, I envy them coz I will never achieve their language proficiency.

Noticed HFJ biz not-so-good now. Maybe coz more joints opening. Years ago, you hear people want to open pubs and KTVs. Nowadays, all want to open HFJs.

I don't think WP really shows anyone the door. If a member becomes a liability, they will simply remove him from the list of candidates for the next elections. Afterall the WP still need a lot of personnel doing non-candidate stuff like sell souvenirs, arrange logistics, ushering etc etc. They may turn people down as potential election candidates but they won't turn people down doing volunteer work.

Of course, people that think too highly of themselves, can't see that they have become a liability, see the volunteer work as beneath them, and think that they are more important than the party will end up choosing to leave the party to join another party that would allow them to stand for election as a candidate.

People have been criticising PAP as "elitist" but it seems that WP people aren't better either. PAP may have all the elites at power but their cadre membership still consists of many "coffeeshop uncles", so to speak.

Politics is about empathy and inclusiveness. It would be utter hypocrites to keep singing about "inclusiveness" when the party people keep harping about kicking out or "manage" those "coffeeshop uncles".
