TPL got the ground support because she got the mountain behind her...this WP candidate is a newbie, untested and unproven and so, it is not easy to just walk in and claim the throne. Still, she got a chance because people are getting sick of the pappies.

From my understanding, WP potential candidates have to serve for a couple of years before decision is made whether they are in.
