This proves that PAP is upright. Even a cabinet minister and speaker of parliament were not exempt. It is unlike in China, where the high-flying tigers are not taken down. And for those that are now being arrested, they mostly came from rival cliques that were against Eleven Jinping. LKY went after his own cabinet ministers and close allies if they were corrupt.

For those not caught, the problem is with the efficiency of the CPIB, and not the resolve of the PAP government in going after corrupted public servants.

I give you that, but that doesn't mean WP is not. Based on your definition, if WP is not charged in court for corruption, then they are also upright and honest.

My next question is, why PAP don't need check but WP need so many check since they are both upright and honest?

The CCC is not a single person but a group of people.

What has this issue got to do with whether CCC is a group of people or a single person? None of the organizations - PAP, WP, TC, CCC, NEA - have a single person. But CCC is a bunch of volunteers with partisan inklings.

They are there to serve as a safeguard in the use of government funds within the ward for activities and amenities.

Even the PAP has never heard of this laughable definition of CCC being a safeguard in use of funds. The PA is at national level, CCC at constituency level and RC at zone level.

The CCC does not have unlimited powers. They too are bound by whatever rules are laid down for them. Due to the constraints on the CCC, they could only stand by helplessly while the WP's incompetence brought the town council to the brink of bankruptcy.

We need to strengthen the CCC in order to check on the elected MP in running of the town council, and not just the common areas or funding for amenities.

Absence of power is not called a "constraint". No organization has complete absolute powers. The CCC is called Citizens Consultative Committee. No where in its name suggests that it has a municipal role.

We can't have law breakers running town councils. They should be removed from office immediately. Surely there must be a provision in the statutes which can be used to throw the WP out of parliament so that a law abiding team can take over.
