WP Fined $800 for Running CNY Trade Fair Without Permit

Re: NEA vs AHPETC: Post-sentence Statement (Media Release – 24 December 2014)

"the court declined to rule" (last sentence) but can pass judgement meh?

How does this work? Passing judgement without passing a ruling?

From my own experience...let me pass my own and personal judgement on NEA...

THE TRUTH,AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH...

I will be willing to go and testify on oath if need be...on every word that I am going to post here...

NEA is a SCUM agency..

This happened some 5 to 8 years back at Bedok MRT exit.

I saw an NEA officer booking a vendor for selling some trinklets, beads chain etc at the exit of Bedok MRT.
I saw the pitiful face of this young teenager trying to do some small business on his small foldable table.

I felf sori for this young man and asked why was he booked as he was not selling any unhygienic foodstuff.

The NEA officer replied that he is illegally hawking and more importantly he is blocking the exit as Bedok is a very busy interchange and thousands of commuters and residents using the exit daily.

So I accepted his reason..

BUT..BUT what u known happen..???

You find they licensed a news-stand and convenience store booth right at the exit to collect licensing fees and commercial rent.
They will tell u this booth is ok as it is legal. They pay the fees or licence. It is also ok to block the MRT exit as long as you pay them the fees they asked.

So this incident will speak for the integrity of a government agency...

Good analysis:)

OYK, Desmond Choo and Koh Poh Koon are signs that the pap is desperate. PAP cant get enough new candidates for the next GE and has to recycle the three 2011 rejected candidates. That gives PAP a dilemma.

Where to recycle the three, Aljunied, Hougang and PE? If so, the three sure get beatenly decisively.

So the lesser of two evils is to shamelessly put them in other GRCs and hope the voters will let them in under the coat tails of a Minister. But that can be risky as it exposes the pap's dilemma and weakness. Will the GE 2016 electorate also reject the 2011 rejected candidates from other constituencies and give the Opposition a resounding victory in the three GRCs?

I think the problem doesn't stop there. They are very short of anchor candidates to helm a GRC. In the last GE, supposed anchors lost percentage even though they manage to retain the GRC and some are against "lightweights". The opposition has tasted blood and wants more in next GE and will contest everywhere more aggressive. Problem is how to cut the pie and still retain the controlling seats in parliament. For example, CCS and TCJ are ministers but yet they rode on coattails in last GE. Are they considered as anchors and helm a GRC? very tough questions....

No they are not. In fact, many are now disillusioned with the WP for their extremely poor fiscal management of the town council, driving it to the brink of bankruptcy through their incompetence. The arrears owed to the town council is staggering, and a once healthy town council is now in such dire financial straits. Many Aljunied folks are praying for the PAP to return, so that they can put things right.

The recent WP-NEA spat also left many Aljunied folks disappointed, that the WP thinks it is above the law simply because they are opposition, and constantly accuse the government of trying to 'fix' them when the government takes them to task for not following proper protocol for admin matters.

We are hoping for Victor Lye to come make things right. Other opposition wards such as Potong Pasir and Nee Soon SMCs have seen the light and repented. Aljunied GRC is next. Maybe the WP might even lose their election deposits!

Potong Pasir probably want lift and estate upgrading. After getting it, next GE can kick PAP out again :)

TCJ is very active on FB. He has raised his profile considerably on his own, while most of the opposition have no initiative to maintain their own FB page. They can always use FB to promote their ideas, instead of always whining that the mainstream media is biased.

CCS was our former chief of army. His past credentials would ensure that he would win in any GRC he chooses to stand in. Both ministries are generally doing a good job. So, they both will win in the next GE.

Sure. Ask them to help a GRC in the next fight. If by setting up a FB and you heightened your profile, PAP will not be having so much problems with the younger generation

They all would be fighting in GRCs. If they win, 4 to 5 other PAP MPs get into Parliament with them. SMCs are a waste of time. Their winning or losing affect no one else. You should follow TCJ on FB, where he would reveal with specifics how active he is in helping citizens through MOM or grassroots. None of the opposition bothered to do so, especially WP. They all think just because they wear blue, they are entitled to free votes. WP would be booted out of their wards in the coming GE, just like SDP, never to be taken seriously again in our local politics.

Yes, pap has recruitment problems and retention problems. As Charles Chong confessed, pap is resorting to recruiting 3rd grade candidates. And the pap is so desperate that last GE, they almost lost TP GRC by fielding Steve Tan until there was a last minute change.

Next GE will be exciting as the pap has to resort to recycling rejected candidates and retaining expired candidates.

These are sure signs of a declining power which is poorly led by LHL

smart PP voters.

the pap now realises that HDB upgrading for votes policy is coming back to slap them

A Minister having to rely on social media is a desperate politician. He wont last

Wonderful point. I foresee many Ministers getting booted out at the next GE

If they lose?

Why would they lose? Ministers such as Mah Bow Tan, Wong Kan Seng, Raymond Lim and Lim Swee Say are viewed as ministers who did not perform so well in their duties prior to GE2011. Yet, they all won by comfortable margins. Many people claimed that they were unhappy with people like the former SAF generals and Tin Pei Ling for riding on the coat tails of the more seasoned leaders, but they still ultimately cast their votes in support. PAP candidates who lost in Hougang such as Heng Chee How made it into parliament via the GRC and rose to be ministers. So far, he is doing an excellent job and can helm a GRC on his own. No major complaints were made against him.

If highly unpopular PAP ministers can win elections comfortably, then those who were not lampooned on TRE or TRS are very likely to win too. People would rather trust a Wong Kan Seng who allowed Mas Selamat to escape under his watch, than a Chiam See Tong would had been speaking up for the people.

George Yeo was just plain unlucky despite being a well-liked minister. The party did the right thing to distance themselves from the unlucky guy. He may be capable, but if he is unlucky, then it is all pointless.

PAP would win back all the seats in the next GE. Maybe they might be merciful and still allow WP to hold onto a token Hougang SMC.

My landed prop was spotchecked n melayu inspect found mozzie breeding in pot catch tray
He appeared kawan, kawan and assured that only verbal warning...............BUT within a week I got summon for $150 fine. This sort of behaviour is lamentable and is the last time NEA is allowed to enter my house: they are always told boss NOT in, come some other time (......or get a search warrant)

Why would they lose?

Whether they will lose or not is not for you to say. It's for the GRC to decide.

My question to you is what happens if they lose? Will they lose all the 5 seats in the GRC like what George did at Aljunied?

They won't lose.

In the event if they lose, PAP will still remain deeply entrenched in the government, as many of them hold senior management portfolios in the GIC, trade unions, stat boards, clan associations and what-have-yous. They will ensure that the non-PAP government would have no way to line its own pockets or bankrupt our reserves through populist harebrained policies.

The non-PAP government would not have the power to pass laws to boot out the PAP in the GIC or stat boards, not unless they hold a 2/3 majority. Do you think the opposition can win 2/3 of the seats in parliament? If not, PAP would still be very much in charge of the organs of the state government.

WP, so incompetent they cant even fill up an application form

you missed the gist of WP's wisdom.

Let's wait for the final ending to this CNY Trade fair case (NEA/PAP vs WP) and see who will laugh last
