WP statement on bus drivers’ strike: SMRT must address workers’ grievances better
http://wp.sg/2012/11/wp-statement-on-bus-drivers-strike-smrt-must-address-workers-grievances-better/

“While much attention this week has focused on the grievances of the bus drivers from China, SMRT must address legitimate concerns that have been raised by all its bus drivers since the recent revision of salaries and work hours. We urge SMRT to keep its commitment to improve working conditions for all its workers and ensure channels of communication between workers and management remain open.”

Legitimate concerns? What legitimate concerns? Raised by ALL DRIVERS ???!!!

All Singaporean bus drivers have so much legitimate concerns, yet these self-styled “Co-Drivers” never bother to talk about their grievances earlier in parliament.

- Did Vichy WP eunuchs ever raise the issue of Singaporean bus drivers’ grievances on salaries? No.
- Did Vichy WP eunuchs ever raise the issue of Singaporean bus drivers’ grievances on work hours? No.
- Did Vichy WP eunuchs ever raise the issue of Singaporean bus drivers’ grievances on lousy working conditions? No.
- Did Vichy WP eunuchs ever raise the issue of Singaporean bus drivers’ grievances on lack of communication with their management? No.

For many, many, many years, Singaporean bus drivers have remained one of the most underpaid and most overworked in the world. Yet, the most inappropriately-named “Workers” Party, which is anything but about workers with all its MPs being towkays, professional elites, jobless and none of whom ever being a worker themselves, continue to ignore all Singaporean bus drivers’ suffering……….That is, only until now.

Instead, all Singaporean bus drivers have to rely on foreign workers to come all the way from China to help them highlight their grievances. If the foreign bus drivers had not gone on strike and challenged the PAP regime, Vichy WP eunuchs would not have raised or known or even bothered about the grievances of all Singaporean bus drivers.

Shamefully and sadly, Vichy WP also subcontracts the job of “First World Opposition” to Foreign Talents.

Instead of AWOL and TCSS in parliament about bird-droppings and bird-singings for the past 20 years, Vichy WP eunuchs must stand up for all Singaporean bus drivers in parliament now!

Vichy WP must address workers’ grievances better………………. and not the birds’ grievances.

One of my foreigner friend who is working here once ask me what much does our bus drivers earn.
I said about between 1-2K.
He couldn't believe it.
He said other countries like Japan or london are earning more than 3K.
I then ask him if he can't find a job here, will he want to be a bus driver.
He said NO.

“Our MPs will be asking the Government questions on this issue during the next sitting of Parliament.”

Too Little, Too Late.………….“平时不烧香, 临时抱佛鸟”

After over 20 years of deafening silence on the unfair treatment of all Singaporean bus drivers, Vichy WP eunuchs only now then start to wayang their “concerns” in Parliament.

Since Vichy WP has so little understanding and interest on Singaporean bus drivers’ welfare, one can only expect all the Vichy WP eunuchs and Hammerrhoid zombies being unleashed onto all bus interchanges over the coming weekends, harassing the bus drivers (just as they always love to harass and disturb diners at hawker centres for cheapo photo op) to discover all their legitimate concerns so that they can have something to wayang-wayang in the next parliament seating.

If the real 魏征 is still around, not that Wayang one, he would have raised the grievances of all the Singaporean bus drivers much earlier and long before any strike to have happened, instead of always AWOL and TCSS in parliament.

Vichy WP must address workers’ grievances better……….and not the birds’ grievances better.

This is the first strike in Singapore in more than 25 years. We are disappointed that it took a strike to bring to the forefront the bus drivers’ grievances about their pay and living conditions

The people are even more disappointed that it took a strike for our very own self-styled “Co-Drivers” to finally come to the forefront, instead of hiding behind PAP rear-backside, and to address the bus drivers’ grievances about their pay and living conditions.

Most probably, this is the first time in Vichy WP in more than 25 years that they are going to talk about bus drivers’ unfair treatment instead TCSS in parliament about bird-droppings and bird-singings.

Vichy WP must address workers’ grievances better……….and not only the birds’ grievances better.

You have to contextualise the pay issue. In Europe and many other countries, bus drivers and even nurses get paid hell of a lot more. A nurse in England now gets paid in excess of 4k pounds. That would sound
like a windfall by Singapore's standards, but let's not forget the tax in England is also crazy - 40%? In Norway, it's 28% across the board. The govt taxes the individual on everything. So for instance, on top of yr pay (let's say it's $4k) and you get a $1000 increment, the govt will tax you 28% of $4k, and then another 28% of $1000. On the other hand, all the taxes you pay will come back to you in the form of social benefits et al. You win some you lose some. In Singapore, taxes are much lower, but nobody gives a fuck about you. For many who are just scraping by, if they fall terminally ill, they would just rather die.

Even if one day we pay taxes of 40% like other countries, still nobody gives a fuck about you.
Because here, the taxes money is the garmen money, not yours. It goes to the coffer, aka reserves.
Already your CPF is no longer your CPF, so what do you except when taxes are increased?
A bloodsucker will forever be a bloodsucker.
