Remember @ Clementi Station early morning, MRT 1 train hit the rear of another because oil spilled the tracks and could not stop the train. Some hundred pessangers injured.

You have a justification to say so, but this justification is a very sad one.

This is because in many many other MRT happy endings, there are lost limbs and bloods and deaths.

So yes, in comparison this is happier ending than all the rest.

the amount of grease, oil, rain and excrement on tracks and wheels contribute to (the lack of) braking precision. track sensors and the signaling and control system also play a role in train intervals, safety and stopping distances. sinkies should consider themselves lucky that such anomalies, which are inevitable over time, happen rarely in 50 years. praise the pap and mrt! :p
