The Reality - from experience - is usually darker with more Brutal intentions.

Social Clubs such as this, would require many, many Years of Survival in order to gain "value"
Based on SG's High Rentals, Fickle-Greedy-Landlords,..clubs such as this may not survive, long term

While inviting the public to join RTC in 1996, it was represented that the club would be “premier” and “exclusive”. The membership drive resulted in 19,048 members signing up, making it the largest social club in S'pore. This number was never disclosed to members until litigation between the current and former shareholders of RTC. The disclosure led almost 5,000 members of the Club to commence a class action against RTC in 2001, claiming it was in breach of contract in failing to provide a “premier” and “exclusive” club. RTC had to also pay similar compensation to members who did not join in the class action, but to whom similar representations had been made. Damages for the loss of amenities suffered by the members as a result of the Club having too many members were assessed at $3,000 for each member. As RTC did not have sufficient cash to pay the total damages to the members, the directors and shareholders eventually obtained the sanction of the court that damages would include partial payment of cash and consumption of food and beverages as well as the use of chargeable facilities over a period of time.
..more importantly,
Would someone reveal the whereabouts of the RTC Directors,.. Lawrence Tan,.. William ???,...
Was Dennis Betrayed by his Partners ?

The former Whitley Road Car Park was won by these 4 men because they bid, TWICE the quantum of the next highest bidder.
Either they over-valued or foolish ?

PR is professional mind-bending dark arts,...
so simply hype up "Prestige" and Sell

Membership intake had to be increased beyond capacity, in order to justify the Double-High Cost of the land

If you have the money to burn, you can get a lifetime membership at the Swiss Club at a fraction of the price.

You can make friends with Swiss people, which in my opinion are one of the best variants of angmohs in the world.

Country club is strictly set apart for Minions and Minitoots only. Sinkies can only drool and whine about the affordability.

Growing the population in S'pore benefits the PAP. When the population increases, it puts pressure on housing and land prices which inflates the value of SG's land reserves. The govt’s financial reserves are estimated to be around $3 trillion, but the land it owns is worth several times that amount. The value of this land increases every time a new HDB record is set. The govt uses the excuse of rising property prices to divert more money from the national budget into housing subsidies, which then flow back into the reserves when land is sold to HDB and private developers. This is done without having to spend money on things that would genuinely improve the lives of S'poreans.

The promised Swiss Standard of Living is reserved for only 20% of the population in S'pore, but 100% have to bear with the Swiss Cost of Living.
