would you accept a response like this from a highly paid minister?

He is smoking his socks. When the the various. Golf courses were laid, they brought in experts from Australia and New Zealand to get it ready. No need one year. The Istana lawn was laid by a Kiwi.

This sounds like another Brompton affair where the Minister defended his staff without checking and later made to look like a fool.

Singapore's climate allows for rich flourishing growth so moisture and sun are not the issues.

Agree.

The possibility of applying too much lubricant is also not feasible.:o

grass species for greens vs. fairways vs. football fields are different, and they require different preparation, treatment, care, repair and growing times. zoysia is ok for the sg stadium, but i would recommend bermudagrass.

please give the well paid pappy some slack as he may have the last laugh with his fat pay. devil's in the details. for example, the brand new field at the newly built levi's stadium in santa clara had to be thoroughly gutted and replaced as expensive executives picked the wrong grass and had the field sodded loosely to meet start date. millions of $ wasted. the problem with using patches of sod to cover the field is that contact with bare soil is loose at least for a year. roots from sod will require around 2 years to penetrate into bare soil. the field may look covered with grass for football (american football is worse than soccer in terms of wear and tear on field) but patches of sod can come off with these very heavy but fast football players. ultimately, it's better to grow the grass on the field on the bare soil than placing mosaic of sods over it.

please be nice to our esteemed and very well informed pappies. thank you. :D
don't think zoysia is appropriate for sg stadium as the fertiliser for it is too soft for most sporting events - the studs would leave grass under repair(gur) a permanent feature and screw up other fixtures / events. would be good to know if the expensive executives in levi's stadium have been retained or are now doing what the mexicans there do best . anyway, we digress as the issue here is not the type of grass used (desso grass master costing $833k) but more the cockanathan minister accepting what experts tell him, without a mind of his own to even question if due diligence was employed.

It is easy to spew rubbish from your keyboard.
Grass needs time to grow. Don't be naive!

absolutely agree and you're spot on, as usual. from 2011, they had monumental task of, and used the time to, decide when to varnish and where to place the old benches. the pdmm who provide massages (and then some) tells me that in 3 years, her armpit bush can have hern-twoh harvestings (with perms and highlights) to please hern-twoh requests from her customers to be stylo-mylo. goes with saying that the warm and damp area providing lots of moisture does help it to flourish, and it says without going that i'm with you on this.
Construction work for the sports hub started in 2010 due to the delays caused by the 2008 financial crisis and soaring construction costs. By September 2011, the pilling and the foundation of the stadium was completed and construction on the steelwork of the stadium fixed roof started.
