With the cost of living these days, the competition from FTs..etc, getting a degree would be the very minimum in ensuring one gets to getting a good start or job. Would u be disappointed if your kids didn't make it to Uni (local) or overseas (good ones not the Mickey mouse type!!). Dont know about u guys but I would!! Wouldn't face this problem for a few more years but ...yes I spent some sleepless nites thinking about it!!

ah loonz gahmen said ur kids no nid go univ ...

A degree does not ensure a good start anymore as there is an oversupply of graduates.

If you don't want your kids to end up like tonychat, then yes....having a uni degree is good.

If you have connections you don't really need a degree lah.
Only have to look at LHL. Even if he didn't have a degree, do you think LKY would have considered someone who is a non-Lee for the post:confused:

Our gov't is one kind lah:rolleyes: I remember applying for a job at a GLC & from that experience decided never to work for any GLC.

The HR of these companies will scrutinise your qualifications, even asking about your primary school:eek: I was applying on the basis of my Uni degree & work experience & here they were asking about my primary school:D

Not sure if you seen the clip at around 3:25 before posting or just post blind?

This is what he said:
"I’ve been waiting more than 30 years to say this: “Dad, I always told you I’d come back and get my degree.”
I want to thank Harvard for this timely honor. I’ll be changing my job next year … and it will be nice to finally have a college degree on my resume."

Bill Gates was a Harvard dropout but he went on later to get his degree.

So, you believe this bullshit that the government spew that kids no need to get a degree.

Not sure how many children of our scums in white do not have a degree.
But Jurong West Secondary vice-principal takes issue with ‘every school is a good school’ ideal

"How many of our leaders and top officers who say that every school is a good school put their children in ordinary schools near their home? (Only) until they actually do so are parents going to buy (it)."

Those were the exact words of Jurong West Secondary School (JWSS) vice-principal Pushparani Nadarajah, who was responding to speakers and teachers’ discussions of making every school a good one at the inaugural AsiaEducationExpo (AEX) 2013, according to a report by The Straits Times.

Skill set and street smart, are far more important than Uni degree.

A degree will not promise wealth and success in real life, its just another ticket for you to progress into whichever company that might takes you in.

Uni or not uni is not important anymore.
What is really important for the future of your kids and for yourself is that the fucking PAP parasites maggots cockroaches all must go with their corrupt kangaroos

For the sake of your kids, focus your energy and what is left of your money to work towards bringing down of the parasitic LKY and the fucking PAP

PAP MUST GO FOR THE BETTER FUTURE OF ALL OF US
NOT THE UNI OR NO UNI

All these countries offer free or very low fees college education to its citizens. Some even to foreigners in courses conducted in their language.

The Netherlands
Denmark
Sweden
Finland
Germany

Yes they do and as a result most degrees aren't worth the paper they are printed on.

In order for a degree to have value, it must be scarce and hard to achieve.

wtf .... I don't have uni degree but I still have 1500 plus points in SBF

i know many shipowners with university degree, but many owners of shipyard who started as welders etc.
