imo, it's not all about lao lee, rather it should be the people, i.e, us the true blue singaoreans who have brought singapore to what it is today. can consider lao lee to be lucky that he encountered singaporeans instead of taiwanese, hkies or even matlanders. he might not have lived that long if that were the case.
