I don't say control, but command.
Military has the best discipline force, who accept order from the superior, regardless of whether like or dislike.
However, SAF could be different because the country become heaven for rich foreigners, and the patriotism is waning.

Totally agree on the SAF situation. In fact, I think most of the officers will be shot by 'friendly' fires. The top brass will be hiding in the caves, avoiding contact with the ground troops. But they still could be shot by friendly fires as there are MPs around.

Recent riot in little India shows that our emergency response action and team are not up to standard.
It took >1 hour to arrive at the scene, leaving the public under threat in mob hands.
Perhaps in case of foreign evasion (such as landing at beach, or bombing, artillery shelling, etc.) they may take hours to respond leaving the areas and the people destroyed completely.
